INSPIRED BY GERRIT RIETVELD is a rollator reminiscent of the Red and Blue Chair designed by Gerrit Rietveld in 1917. It is one of the first three-dimensional designs of the De Stijl movement.
One of the functions of Rietveld's chairs, with their hard seats and backrests, is to sharpen our senses, to make us alert and attentive, a kind of antipode to comfort. But when we are old and have impairments, we can no longer choose this. At the same time, we should remain mobile and interactive in old age.
